Add a product

Adding a Product

To add a product:

  • Open the Store from the sidebar.
  • Under Store Management, navigate to the Product Catalog.

You'll see a few sample products that are included by default when you first add your store.
To clear them out, simply
Select All and then click the Trash icon.

Let's add our first product.

When you go to add a product, you'll see four main options supported by the store:

  • Physical Good
  • Digital Good
  • Service
  • Donation

This list represents the full range of product types you can offer.

For this example, we will be adding a physical product.

Filling Out Product Details

On the Product Details page, we'll start by filling in the essential information:

  • Product title
  • Short description
  • Price
  • Main product image

Go ahead and click Save.

  • Once that's done, our new product will be live in the Product Catalog.

Automatically Added Store Pages

When you add a store, several essential pages are created for you:

  • Main Store page
  • Product page
  • Category page
  • Customer sign-in page

Let’s take a closer look at the main Store page.

Previewing Your New Product

To preview your new product, head back to the editor and navigate to the main store page.

Scroll down the page until you find the section with a Product Gallery widget.
Your newly created product should now be visible.

If you don't see it, the first step is to check the product's status in your catalog to make sure it has been set to “Active.”

Why isn't my product showing?

Checking Product Visibility

If a product is not visible on your site, chances are that the product is not set to Active.

To verify this, head on over to your Product Catalog to check its status.

From the product list, look for a field labeled Status to see the product's current setting.

Changing a Product’s Status

To change a product's status, click into its Product Details page.

Next to its name, you'll find a dropdown to change its status.

  • A status of Active means your product is live and visible to shoppers.
  • An Inactive product is hidden from shoppers, but you can still preview it in the editor.
  • A status of Draft means your product is saved in the product catalog, but it is not visible in the editor or for your shoppers.

Confirming the Update

Once you've changed the product's status to Active, head back to the editor.
You should see the product display on your site now.
