Your turn: Upload files to the Media Manager

Reminder

This course is part of the larger Build a site with Editor 2.0 series. To follow along, you'll need the assets from the first course, Collect Content + Create a Site.

To keep your media assets organized in any website, consider creating a folder system to help you find what you need:


Step 1: Create folders
  1. Access the Media Manager: In the side panel of the editor, select Content > Media Manager.
  2. Create Folders:
  3. Select Media Type: In the Media Manager overlay, select the tab that matches the type of content you want to upload (e.g., Images, Icons, Videos, Audio, and Files).
  4. Add a New Folder: Then, click + Add Folder inside the desired tab.
  5. Name Your Folders: Name your folders based on their content or the page where you plan to host them on.
  6. Subfolders: For better organization, create subfolders within your main folders.

Step 2: Upload images from the ZIP file provided

Uploading the images in advance will save you time later! 

  1. Locate the zip file we provided you in the project kickoff section of the course Create content + create a site and extract the files.
  2. Upload the files to the Media Manager
  3. Navigate to Media Manager: Go to the Media Manager section where you created folders.
  4. Select a Tab: Select the desired tab (Images, Icons, Videos, Audio, or Files.)
  5. Select a Folder: Select the folder you would like to add the content to.
  6. Upload Button: Click + Upload  and navigate to the location of your zip file in your device’s file manager. Select the folder file corresponding to your folder name and start the upload.


When finished, all the images you'll need for this site will be organized and ready to use.
