Let’s look at people you’ll need on your team in order to stand up your self-service flow as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Depending on the size of your organization, you may have a single person filling multiple roles. That’s fine! We’ll provide you with recommendations about the skills your people resources will need to have to make this process as smooth as possible.
Project Lead
Although your actual title may be Product Owner, Product Manager, Project Manager or something else, if you're the one responsible for coordinating all the moving parts for this implementation, we're going to refer to you as the 'Project Lead' throughout this guide.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate resources and organize activities throughout launch process to ensure timely delivery of all components.
Recommended knowledge/skills:
- Project management
- Communication
Executive Sponsor
Responsibilities:
Set business priorities and project goals.
May need to be the decision maker and escalation point as necessary.
Needs to be able to:
- Define the vision
- Articulate goals
- Be final decision maker
- Advocate for resources
Designer
Responsibilities:
Responsible for designing and building site or section templates, white-labeling the editor, and maintaining templates over time.
This person may also be useful in identifying which training materials would be useful for your end-users (your clients).
Recommended knowledge/skills:
- Willing to learn new software
- Web design skills encouraged, but not required (you can convert existing Duda templates into templates for your business)
- Accessibility awareness
Developer
Responsibilities:
Use Duda’s API to stand up foundational flow. Role may involve connecting to your internal databases, and developing custom widgets to extend site functionality.
Recommended knowledge/skills:
- API knowledge
- Full stack development knowledge
- Understanding of your product’s architecture and existing SSO flow
Operations
Responsibilities:
Make decisions surrounding client interaction, staff roles, permissions, build flows, upgrade flows.
Recommended knowledge/skills:
- Needs to understand the end-state vision and how your internal platforms will factor into the DIY flow
Support/training
Responsibilities:
Responsible for client training and managing support for clients who need assistance.
Note: our white labeled customers can pull resources from Duda’s unbranded training videos to support education efforts
Recommended knowledge/skills:
- Knowledge of technical support best practices
- Can locate a place to host education resources
To ensure your DIY flow launches as quickly as possible, you, as the "Project Lead", will help communicate what components of the project can occur simultaneously.
For example, once you and your executive sponsor have a sense of what your clients’ experience should be like, you can have your design resource begin learning the Editor so they can start creating the needed templates. At the same time, your development resource can work on getting the API key and learning the API calls that will power your flow.
