/MAKING API CALLS WITH ZAPIER TO AUTOMATE MEDIA SLIDER

Set up the Media Slider:
Create and configure the image collection

What we're doing:

In this lesson, we’ll prepare the hero section and the media slider for our workflow by connecting them to a new image collection in the Content Library. We'll remove unnecessary elements from the hero section, add the media slider widget, and configure it to pull images from our image collection. Additionally, we’ll add placeholder images to the collection so that the slider can be properly set up before we start automating the image update process.

Why we're doing it:

Setting up the media slider and connecting it to an image collection ensures that we have a dynamic, data-driven media slider ready for use. Adding placeholder images allows us to test and verify the setup before integrating real client images through automation, ensuring a seamless transition when the workflow is live.

How we're going to do it:

We’ll begin by cleaning up the hero section, removing any connected elements. Then, we’ll add and configure the media slider widget, ensuring it's properly sized and connected to the image collection. After creating the collection with placeholder images, we’ll map the fields in the widget to the collection, allowing the slider to display images from our data source. Finally, we’ll submit a test response through the intake form to ensure everything is set up correctly before automating the process in Zapier.

Important

Before moving on to the next step, make sure to submit a test response through your intake form with some sample data, including at least one image submission. This is essential, as we'll need real form data to map the image fields in Zapier. Without a form submission, there won’t be any data available to pull from when setting up the workflow in the next lesson. So, take a moment to complete the form and submit it with some dummy data before continuing.
